What My Best Friends' Daughter is about
My Best Friends’ Daughter Candy Shorts begins with a favor. His best friend has asked him to look after Elodie Valmont this summer and keep the wrong men away from her. Elodie is an adult, 18, about to start university and keen to leave her small-town life behind; Candy’s profile calls her fun, curious and bold. The favor doesn’t go to plan, because the man she’s meant to be protected from is the one doing the protecting. His method is a set of house rules (dishes, cleaning, opinions about her boyfriend), and hers is to test every one. The series is tagged Taboo and Maid, Elodie is a fictional adult and a Candy original character, and the tone is bickering first, tension second: two adults trading orders, with each rule an invitation to break it.
Why it works (and where it doesn’t)
The Maid tag makes sense once you see it: this is a chores-and-rules rivalry, and the energy comes from the bickering. Each rule he sets is a dare, and Elodie’s answer is that maybe breaking them is exactly what she wants. The free minutes are all banter and escalation, which suits a premise built on one old friendship and one very awkward promise. (Favors for best friends are the leading cause of trouble in every sitcom I’ve liked.) The weakness is that the setup leans on a familiar trope and is sharper on attitude than on story. If back-and-forth banter hooks you in two minutes, it earns episode 3. If you want surprises, shop elsewhere.
The free episodes
Episode 1 (61 seconds) sets the arrangement: he’s meant to look after her for the summer, can’t stop noticing her, and answers her sarcasm with house rules and a dig at her boyfriend, Troy. It ends with her saying that maybe breaking the rules is what she wants. Episode 2 (61 seconds) escalates the chore standoff, includes a call from her father that gets a cover story, and ends as she announces she’s broken the rules and he’ll have to deal with it. Suggestive and teasing, not explicit.
After the paywall
Episodes 3, 4 and 5 are locked: three episodes at 12 tokens each, 3 × 12 = 36 tokens to finish. Premium is required and includes 100 tokens a month, so one month covers the series with 64 left to spend. Unlocked episodes are yours permanently, no ads. The series ends in a chat with Elodie, so the rulebook can keep growing after the finale. Candy keeps what the rules turn into behind the token wall, and so do we.

Verdict
A familiar premise carried by attitude. The banter is the hook, the free pair ends on a flipped rulebook, and the whole series costs 36 tokens, so it’s a low-risk way to spend a Premium month’s spare tokens. Watch the two free episodes on a free Candy account; if you’re smiling at the end of episode 2, episode 3 is the logical next click.
