What The Gods Gave Me My Father's Wife is about
The Gods Gave Me My Father’s Wife Candy Shorts trades the modern house for a royal court. Prince Theron comes home to find that the king has remarried, and the new queen, Lysandra, is the woman he has been dreaming about. She has been dreaming about him, too. An oracle storms the throne room to announce that the king has welcomed a serpent into his marriage bed and that his kingdom will fall, and the guards drag her out. Episode 2 supplies the lore: Aphrodite appeared to both of them, and half a prophecy says the king’s son will enter the royal bed and inherit the crown. Candy tags the series New, Cuckold, Stepmom, Taboo and Fantasy. Everyone involved is a fictional adult, the free episodes stay suggestive rather than explicit, and the gods supply the excuse.
Why it works (and where it doesn’t)
Blaming the gods is the oldest alibi in storytelling, and it still works. Giving the taboo a prophecy means the series has a ticking clock and a built-in reason the couple can’t simply behave. The costumes and court setting also make it the one title in this batch that doesn’t look like anything else on the shelf. (Greek myth has never been short of in-law problems, so the genre was already half-written.) The weak spot is the usual one: two free minutes are mostly lore and meaningful stares, so you’ll be paying to find out how the story handles a king who’s about to be on the wrong end of it. If the Cuckold tag is a dealbreaker, skip. If not, it’s a fun premise.
The free episodes
Episode 1 (68 seconds) is the throne-room introduction: the king presents his queen, the prince knows her face from his dreams, and an oracle warns of a serpent in the marriage bed before the guards remove her. A voice urging the pair to do what the gods ask ends the episode. Episode 2 (59 seconds) is the lore dump with a cliffhanger: Aphrodite, the half-prophecy, a confession about why she married the king, and a locked chamber. It ends on the line about giving the gods what they came to watch. Suggestive and fade-to-black.
After the paywall
Episodes 3, 4 and 5 are locked: three episodes at 12 tokens each, 36 tokens to finish. You need Premium, which includes 100 tokens a month, so this fits alongside a second standard series in the same month. Unlocked episodes are yours forever, no ads. Candy’s own description says the secret doesn’t stay private, so the later chapters are about what happens when the court finds out; the details stay behind the token wall. The series ends in a chat with its lead character, and it has no dubs yet.

Verdict
The most distinctive costume drama in this batch, and cheap to finish at 36 tokens. The prophecy gives the premise a spine and the gods give everyone a convenient alibi. Two free episodes cost nothing and set up a locked chamber and a crown. Start there; if the last line of episode 2 makes you curious, the rest is only three unlocks away.
