What Sworn to the Queen is about
Sworn to the Queen Candy Shorts is a fantasy built on one law and one loophole. The law: touching the Queen is punishable by death. The loophole, which she points out within the first minute, is that the law says nothing about her touching him. She is 22, and when a superior sneers that a former stable hand has no place in the Queensguard, she does the opposite of what’s expected. She picks Kale, the one nobody wanted, to guard her bedchamber starting tonight. Candy’s synopsis says every night after that becomes a death sentence for him, and she keeps daring him. The tags are Taboo and Fantasy. It’s an original cast, there’s no chat at the end, and Candy lists dubs in French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. Every character is a fictional adult.
Why it works (and where it doesn’t)
This has one of the cleanest openings among Candy’s five-episode shorts. One rule, one loophole and one deadline (the court picks her husband tomorrow) all arrive inside two minutes, and the dialogue has the confident, slightly theatrical rhythm a royal court deserves. The queen has the power and knows it, which keeps the story from being only about the guard’s nerves. Making him hold her crown as a trust exercise is the most medieval HR policy I’ve ever seen. The fantasy setting also sets it apart from the catalog’s many modern-day stepfamily setups. The weakness is common to every five-episode short: the free pair is setup, and the plot has only just started. If you like power-play with a plot attached, this is a strong pick.
The free episodes
Episode 1 (56 seconds) lays out the rule, has the guard mocked for his background and then promoted to bedchamber duty by the queen, who points out the loophole in the law. Episode 2 (59 seconds) turns it into a ritual: bar the door, hold my crown in both hands, say the law back to me. Then the deadline arrives, the court choosing her husband tomorrow, and the episode cuts off mid-sentence. The free part is suggestive and tense, with nothing explicit, and the cut-off line is where the 12-token episode 3 begins.
After the paywall
Episodes 3 to 5 are locked: three episodes at 12 tokens each, 3 × 12 = 36 tokens to finish. Premium is required and includes 100 tokens a month, so this series leaves 64 for another, with 28 to spare after a second standard one. Unlocked episodes are yours forever, no ads. Candy lists no chat character for this series, so episode 5 closes the story rather than opening a conversation.

Verdict
A strong opening: one rule, one loophole and a deadline in two minutes. The free pair is suggestive and stylish, finishing costs 36 tokens, and the series comes dubbed in five languages. If the crown scene hooks you, the cliffhanger will finish the job. Start with episode 1, and keep your hands to yourself.
