The Gods Gave Me My Father’s Wife — Episode 1

Episode 1 begins mid-dream, with someone insisting the other can’t be doing this because she’s his father’s wife. Then it cuts to the royal court, where the king presents his new queen, Lysandra, to his son. The king describes her as the woman from his own dreams. The prince recognizes her as the woman from his, which is an awkward thing to realize in front of an audience. An oracle interrupts to warn that a serpent has entered the marriage bed and that the kingdom will fall for it; the king calls it nonsense and has her removed. Left alone, the prince and Lysandra wonder whether the oracle meant them and admit they’ve shared the same dream, and both enjoyed it. A voice urging them to do what the gods have asked closes the episode. At 68 seconds it’s mostly setup and significant looks, and nothing explicit is shown.
