Forgive Me, Father — Episode 1

Episode 1 opens with a few teaser lines: someone being told to stop, and replying that what was just said isn’t stop. Then it rewinds to the start. It’s Sunday at a small-town church and the new priest is at the door after the service, shaking hands and collecting thanks. When someone addresses him as Father, he’s a beat slow to answer and apologizes, which tells you where his mind has been. That someone is Mica. She says the sermon was inspiring, and adds that she especially liked the part about resisting temptation, a little more sincerely than the part deserves. The episode ends in confession. Mica opens with the traditional lines, the priest asks what her sin is, and her answer is the cliffhanger: she’s been having impure thoughts about her new priest. At 59 seconds it’s pure setup, flirtatious and entirely non-explicit.
