What BAD Step-Sister is about
BAD Step-Sister Candy Shorts has about the shortest setup possible: Dad says Daisy can stay for the summer, and she turns up at her step-brother’s apartment wearing a towel. Daisy Brannock is 22, loud, theatrical and, going by her Candy profile, a bikini barista at a drive-thru milkshake stand with a cow theme and a lot of opinions. The complication is the girlfriend, who lives there and is roughly twenty feet away in every scene. Daisy and her step-brother share a secret from a wedding, one night she wants to turn into a habit, and she says so out loud while the girlfriend is in the next room. Everyone on screen is a fictional adult, and the free episodes play flirty and frank rather than explicit. Candy’s own pitch promises the girlfriend eventually decides she wants in too.
Why it works (and where it doesn’t)
The best trick here is geography. Every scene is staged so the girlfriend is one thin wall away, which gives a one-minute episode more tension than some feature-length affairs. Daisy plays the loud, never-stops-talking brat with enough sarcasm to keep it funny rather than grating, and the cow styling gives the series a visual identity. The weakness is the usual one for the format: two free episodes establish the situation and the dare, then stop. (I have sat through longer negotiations over a thermostat.) For 36 tokens it’s a tightly scoped premise delivered cleanly, and episode 2’s final line is a very good place to stop a free preview.
The free episodes
Episode 1 (67 seconds) is the arrival: Daisy shows up unannounced, asks if he missed her, announces she’s staying all summer, and spends the minute being impossible to ignore in front of his girlfriend. He tells himself he’ll handle it, and the episode closes on someone asking who’s that, unanswered. Episode 2 (70 seconds) is the confrontation: he wants to talk, Daisy reminds him the wedding was one night she misses being his secret, and she finishes with an offer that includes the girlfriend. Flirty, frank, suggestive rather than explicit.
After the paywall
Episodes 3, 4 and 5 are locked: three at 12 tokens each, 36 tokens to finish, comfortably inside the 100 tokens Premium includes each month. That leaves about 64 for another series. Candy flags all three locked episodes with its New badge. Unlocked episodes are yours forever, no ads, and the series ends in a chat with Daisy, so the summer doesn’t have to end at episode 5.

Verdict
A small, loud, well-aimed premise: one apartment, one towel, one girlfriend in the next room. The free pair delivers the setup and a dare, and the 36-token finish is easy to afford. If episode 2’s closing offer made you laugh and wince at once, the series is doing its job. Start with the free episodes and decide from there.
