My First Night Shift — Episode 1

Welcome to the shortest orientation in hospitality: episode 1 runs 56 seconds. A voice-over admits nobody mentioned room service in the job description, but at this hotel every room has an order to fill. Someone tells the new night manager he looks like he’s waiting for a fire alarm and should relax, since it’s only his first night. Then a call reaches the front desk, asking for room service: tonight’s special, room 808. He asks what that is and is told it’s his dessert plate. The guest in 808 says she loves a first-timer and explains she didn’t call because she was hungry. So what did she order? The answer is one word, and it’s him. It’s a setup episode with almost no plot, and it knows it: the whole minute exists to deliver that last line.
