What Date With My Stepmom is about
Date With My Stepmom Candy Shorts runs on one canceled reservation. Nina’s husband bails on dinner for work, leaving her dressed up in an empty house, and then her husband’s 20-year-old son, Evan, walks in. He thinks he’s being discreet. He isn’t: his private opinion of how his stepmom looks in that dress turns out not to be private, and Nina, who has just been stood up, has no plan to let it slide. Candy’s own pitch is that revenge is the only thing on the menu. Both are fictional adults, and unlike many Candy Shorts there’s no chat character attached, so Candy doesn’t flag a hand-off to a chat at the end. The free episodes are about the fast collapse of Evan’s excuses, played flirty and suggestive rather than explicit.
Why it works (and where it doesn’t)
The best trick here is the power swap. Evan spends episode 1 trying to unsay a compliment he never meant her to hear, while Nina plays it deadpan, and the dialogue turns his embarrassment into the plot. It’s efficient: two minutes, two characters, one dress. The drawback is that the stepmom-and-stepson premise shows up across Candy in plenty of costumes, so what sets this one apart is the script’s confidence, not novelty. (I’ve seen more suspense in a restaurant booking confirmation, but the series seems to know that.) Giving Nina a motive, revenge for a ruined evening, also gives her more to do than flirt. If this premise already bores you, two free episodes won’t change that.
The free episodes
Episode 1 (60 seconds) is the cancellation, the dress and the slip: Nina announces dinner is off, Evan’s thoughts about her turn out to be audible, and she asks if he got a good look. Episode 2 (58 seconds) turns his panic into a negotiation. He reaches first for the stepmom defense and then for the what-if-Dad-comes-home one, and Nina picks apart which is really bothering him. The free pair is flirtatious and suggestive, and the final line sets up the escalation without delivering it.
After the paywall
Episodes 3 to 5 are locked: three episodes at 12 tokens each, 3 × 12 = 36 tokens to finish. Premium is required and includes 100 tokens a month, so this series leaves 64 for another, with 28 to spare after a second standard one. Unlocked episodes are yours forever, no ads. Candy lists no lead character to chat with for this series, so episode 5 is where the story ends rather than the start of a conversation.

Verdict
Familiar setup, confident execution: Nina’s deadpan against Evan’s panic is the reason to press play. Two free episodes tell you everything about the tone, and the remaining three cost 36 tokens, inside a single month of Premium. Start with episode 1; if you’re still there for the last line of episode 2, you’ll want episode 3.
