New here? Episode 1 is a tidy 64 seconds and explains everything. Ava is hosting girls’ night, the rule is in the title, and her boyfriend is sent off to the bedroom with a cheeky farewell to his stepbro. The problem is spelled out in his narration: his girlfriend’s best friend is also his stepsister, it has been awkward for two years, and he finds Camilla harder to ignore than he’d like. Camilla notices him watching. A trip to the kitchen draws Ava’s suspicion, and Camilla smooths it over by telling him to go to bed, for now. Then comes the twist the series is built on: twenty minutes into the movie, Ava is asleep on the couch, as she always is. Camilla asks if he’s allowed now, tells him to come and find out, and promises they’ll be quiet.
The momentAva’s out twenty minutes into the movie, as usual, and Camilla’s opener is “So you’re allowed now, step-bro?” Subtle as a brick.
